BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 21. Kyrgyzstan imported 21,876 tons of fresh and dried grapes in 2022 (29,588 tons), which is a decrease of 26 percent over 2021, Trend reports via the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
The value of Kyrgyz fresh and dried grapes imports in the reporting period made up $8.4 million, decreasing from $12.5 million in 2021.
Last year, the leading country-supplier of grapes to Kyrgyzstan was Uzbekistan. The Uzbek exports of grape to Kyrgyzstan amounted to 20,830 tons worth $7.4 million, which is a decrease of 24 percent, compared to 2021 (27,138 tons for $10 million).
At the same time, in the reporting period Kyrgyzstan imported from Kazakhstan 983 tons of fresh and dried grapes for $959,300, which is a decrease of 54 percent from 2,126 tons worth $2.1 million in 2021.
Additionally, Kyrgyzstan also imported grapes from Iran (45 tons for $28,400), and Tajikistan (16.5 tons for $16,800) in 2022.
Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan exported 3,712 tons of fresh and dried grape worth $3.4 million last year, increasing by 2.3 times from 2021 (8,655 tons for $3 million).
In 2022, Kyrgyzstan mostly supplied grapes to Russia. In the reporting period, Kyrgyz exports of grape to Russia amounted to 3,315 tons worth $3.1 million, which is a decrease from 7,959 tons worth $2.7 million in 2021.
