BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 3. The farm gate prices for agricultural products in Kyrgyzstan (the price of the agricultural products minus transport costs, marketing costs) registered an increase of 3.4 percent in January 2023 compared to December 2022, Trend reports via the statistical data of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).

Meanwhile, in annual terms, the farm gate prices for agricultural products in the country decreased by 2.9 percent in the reporting period.

According to the statistics, the farm gate prices for crop production increased by 4.5 percent in January 2023, compared to December 2022.

At the same time, the prices decreased by 12.2 percent year-on-year.

The increase of the farm gate prices for livestock production in the country went up to 2.5 percent in January 2023, compared to December 2022.

The year-on-year increase of livestock production prices reached 8 percent in the first month of 2023.

The farm gate prices for agricultural products among the countries-members of the Eurasian Economic Union in January 2023 increased by 1 percent compared to December 2022, and decreased by 0.5 percent year-on-year.

Agriculture accounted for about 20 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s gross domestic product. According to the data, the value of agricultural products manufactured in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 354.6 billion somoni ($4.1 billion) in 2022.
