BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 17. The water volume in Kyrgyzstan’s Toktogul Dam has amounted to 8 billion cubic meters as of April 17, which is slightly less than on the same date of 2022 (8.2 billion cubic meters), Trend reports with reference to the Electric Stations Company of Kyrgyzstan.

The daily water inflow to the dam amounted to 358 cubic meters per second on April 17, increasing to over 355 cubic meters on April 16, and 316 cubic meters on April 15.

In comparison, the daily water inflow in the Toktogul Dam was 727 cubic meters on April 17, 2022.

The daily discharge of water declined to 246 cubic meters per second on April 17 over 266 cubic meters on April 16, while on April 15 the discharge was 160 cubic meters per second. Meantime, the discharge on April 17 last year made up 163 cubic meters per second.

Toktogul Dam, with a volume of 19.5 billion cubic meters, provides water supply to the Toktogul hydropower plant (HPP).

Toktogul HPP is an irrigation and energy hydroelectric complex in the Naryn River in the southwest of the country. The HPP along with Kurpasai HPP form the Cascade of Toktogul HPPs.

The capacity of Toktogul HPP amounts to 1,200 megawatts, and the capacity of Kurpasai HPP -to 800 megawatts.
