BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 24. Exports from Kyrgyzstan to the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) countries from January through February 2023 exceeding $193.6 million rose by 12 percent year-on-year over $172.9 million in the same period of 2022, Trend reports via the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

In the reporting period, exports to the CIS countries accounted for 75.8 percent of the total exports from Kyrgyzstan.

According to the statistical data, Russia tops among the countries to which Kyrgyzstan supplied goods in the first two months of 2023 ($79.6 million), with its share in Kyrgyzstan exports at 31 percent.

Russia is followed by Kazakhstan with 29.7 percent of Kyrgyz exports. Kyrgyzstan exported to Kazakhstan goods worth $75.8 million from January through February 2023.

Ranked third, Uzbekistan accounted for 12.2 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s exports ($31 million).

Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan imports from the CIS counties in the specified period decreased by 14 percent year-on-year – from $525.6 million to $450.6 million (30.8 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s imports).

Overall, trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and the CIS countries stood at $644.2 million, an 8-percent decrease compared to the same period in 2022 ($698.5 million). Its share accounted for 37.5 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s trade turnover.
