BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 25. Kyrgyzstan imported goods from European countries for $132.8 million from January through February 2023, which is an increase of 2.8 times year-on-year ($47 million in the same period of 2022), Trend reports with reference to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

During the period under review, imports from Europe accounted for 9.1 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s imports.

At the same time, exports from Kyrgyzstan to European countries decreased by 23 percent year-on-year, with its share at 3.7 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s exports. In the first two months of 2023, Kyrgyzstan exported to European countries goods for $9.4 million ($12.2 million in the same period of 2022.)

Overall, trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and European countries amounted to $142.2 million from January through February 2023 increasing by 2.3 times compared to $59.3 million in the corresponding period of 2022.

Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan’s trade turnover amounted to $1.7 billion from January through February 2023, which is an increase of 22.7 percent year-on-year ($1.3 billion in the same period of 2023).

Kyrgyzstan’s exports exceed $255.6 million, which is 2 percent more than $250.2 million in the corresponding months of 2022.

The imports to Kyrgyzstan exceeded $1.4 billion, which is a growth of 27.2 percent year-on-year ($1.1 billion from January through February 2022).
