BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 27. Cooperation in construction and development of small hydropower plants in Kyrgyzstan was underlined in the memorandum signed by the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan and Hungarian Óbuda University, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan.
The memorandum of cooperation aimed at implementing projects in the field of electricity was signed following the meeting of Kyrgyz Energy Minister Taalaibek Ibraev with the rector and staff of the Óbuda University.
Under the memorandum, the parties intend to consider the optimization of the energy system in order to minimize electricity losses.
Furthermore, the parties have agreed to develop a roadmap for renewable energy sources and their integration into Kyrgyzstan's energy system.
In addition, Hungary and Kyrgyzstan reached agreement to develop proposals and to conduct research in order to reduce electricity losses and automate accounting in networks of 0.4-500 kV.
Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan imported 286.5 million kWh of electricity from January through February 2023, which is 1.5 times less than in the corresponding period of 2022 (447.6 million kWh).
