BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 24. The trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan reached $395.7 million in the period from January through April 2023, accounting for 10.2 percent of Kyrgyzstan's total trade turnover, Trend reports.
According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the trade volume between the two countries increased by 8.7 percent compared to the same period in 2022, when it amounted to $364 million.
During this specific period, Kyrgyzstan's exports to Kazakhstan amounted to $151.4 million, making up 24.6 percent of Kyrgyz exports. Export supplies saw a slight increase of 1.2 percent compared to the same period in 2022 ($149.6 million).
Imports to Kyrgyzstan from Kazakhstan reached $244.2 million, accounting for 7.5 percent of Kyrgyz imports. This figure represents a growth of 13.9 percent compared to the period from January through April 2022, when imports stood at $214.3 million.
During the period from January to April 2023, the trade turnover of Kyrgyzstan amounted to $3.9 billion, showing a year-on-year increase of 25.5 percent.
Exports from Kyrgyzstan equaled $616.4 million and experienced a growth of 18.9 percent, while imports reached $3.2 billion with a rise of 26.8 percent.
