Kyrgyzstan's trade turnover up in 1H2023

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 12. Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $6.7 billion from January through June 2023, Trend reports.

According to the State Statistical Committee of the country, the figure is 31 percent more than in the first half of 2022 ($5.1 billion).

During the period under review, exports from Kyrgyzstan totaled $1.306 billion, rising 34.6 percent over $970.5 million recorded from January through June 2022.

The country’s imports reached $5.398 billion, which is an increase of 30.3 percent compared to the same months of the previous year ($4.142 million).

In the structure of trade turnover, exports accounted for 19.5 percent, while imports constituted 80.5 percent.

In the overall volume of the country's trade turnover, trade with member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) accounted for 29.8 percent, including 48.9 percent in exports and 25.1 percent in imports.

Trade with other countries represented 70.2 percent of the total trade turnover of Kyrgyzstan, with exports accounting for 51.1 percent and imports for 74.9 percent.

Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $11.8 billion in 2022, which is 41 percent more than in the same period of 2021 ($8.3 billion).

The country’s exports equaled $2.1 billion in last year, decreasing 21 percent compared to 2021 ($2.7 billion). Imports to Kyrgyzstan amounted to $9.6 billion last year, which is an increase of 72 percent compared to 2021 ($5.5 billion).
