BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, July 12. Kyrgyzstan imported 67,430 passenger cars in the first half of 2023, which is an increase of 4.1 times year-on-year, Trend reports.
As per the data provided by the State Statistical Committee of the country, the value of the imports amounted to $867.851 million, increasing 6.8 times compared to $127.493 million in the first half of 2022.
South Korea emerged as the primary supplier of passenger cars to Kyrgyzstan, exporting a total of 21,708 vehicles to the country in the first half of 2023. This figure increase 7.7 times compared to the same period in 2022 when only 2,813 cars were imported.
The value of these imports stood at $183.468 million, surging 11.4 times compared to the corresponding months of 2022, during which the value was $16.023 million.

Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade turnover from January through June 2023 amounted to $6.7 billion, which is a 31-percent increase year-on-year.
Exports from Kyrgyzstan totaled $1.306 billion, rising 34.6 percent compared to the same period of 2022. The country’s imports equaled $5.398 billion, which is an increase of 30.3 percent compared to the same months of the previous year.
