BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 23. The volume of hard coal exports from Kyrgyzstan increased by 75 percent year-on-year in the first half of 2023, Trend reports.
Kyrgyzstan exported 540,211 tons of hard coal from January through June 2023, compared to only 308,355 tons during the same period in 2022, according to the nation's State Statistical Committee.
These exports' value increased from $13.097 million to $21.867 million, or 67 percent, year over year.

Likewise, Kyrgyzstan bought 144,110 tons of hard coal during the first half of 2023, which is 17 percent less than during the corresponding period in 2022.
Overall, Kyrgyzstan's trade turnover increased by 22.7 percent year over year from January to February 2023, reaching $1.7 billion (up from $1.3 billion in the same period of 2022).
Exports from Kyrgyzstan exceeded $255.6 million, a 2 percent increase over the similar period in 2022. Compared to the $1.1 billion in imports from January through February 2022, imports to Kyrgyzstan exceeded $1.4 billion, representing a rise of 27.2 percent year over year.
