BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 24. The trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Belarus stood at around $45 million in the first half of 2023, Bakyt Torobaev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, said during his meeting with Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Sivak, Trend reports.
"Last year, the volume of mutual trade surpassed $110 million, while for the first half of this year, it has reached approximately $45 million," Torobaev said. He pointed out that the mutual trade volume has been increasing year by year.
According to the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the trade turnover between the two countries from January through June 2023 increased by 0.9 percent compared to the same period last year.
During this period, Kyrgyzstan's exports to Belarus grew by 11.6 percent year-on-year, reaching $12.458 million, while imports decreased by 3 percent, totaling $32 million.
Overall, Belarus contributed approximately 0.7 percent to Kyrgyzstan's total trade turnover. Kyrgyzstan's exports to Belarus represented 1 percent of the country’s exports, whereas imports from Belarus accounted for 0.6 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s imports.
