BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 7. Agricultural production by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), including farm enterprises, in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 58 billion soms ($657 million) from January through June 2023, which is 11.2 percent more than in the same period of 2022, Trend reports.

The data from the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan shows that this production accounted for more than 54 percent of the total agricultural output in the country.

At the same time, the value of industrial production by SMEs in Kyrgyzstan exceeded 50 billion soms ($566 million) during the period under review.

There were near 14,000 SMEs operating across Kyrgyzstan from January through June 2023, with nearly 95 percent of them being small enterprises.

Additionally, about 64 percent of these operating small enterprises were located in the city of Bishkek. These SMEs provided employment for approximately 86,000 people.

There were about 450,000 individual entrepreneurs engaging in business activities in Kyrgyzstan, as of July 1, 2023.
