Kyrgyzstan aims to boost exports to Germany

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 30. Kyrgyzstan is planning to focus its efforts on increasing exports to Germany, Trend reports.

President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, made this announcement during a meeting with Vice Chancellor and Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection of Germany, Robert Habeck, in Berlin.

Japarov highlighted the significant growth in trade turnover between the countries by 2.3 times in 2022, reaching $180 million. He emphasized that Germany has remained one of Kyrgyzstan's major trading partners within the EU.

Japarov said that Kyrgyzstan also intends to boost trade turnover with Germany in general. Speaking about the level of mutual investments between Kyrgyzstan and Germany, President mentioned that there is still untapped potential. Kyrgyzstan is highly interested in attracting investments from Germany and other EU member states.

President Japarov also noted that potential investors may be attracted to Kyrgyzstan's advantageous location along the logistical routes between China and Europe.

In response, Robert Habeck, expressed Germany's interest in exploring new partnerships in their trade policy, particularly with countries in Central Asia.

Habeck added that he aims to engage in discussions with potential German investors to explore opportunities in the Kyrgyzstan market. He outlined three sectors in Kyrgyzstan that might pick the interest of German entrepreneurs: raw materials, renewable energy sources, and human resources.

In conclusion, both parties agreed to intensify Kyrgyz-German cooperation, particularly among business circles in the two countries, with the goal of deepening and expanding their collaboration further.
