BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 26. Trade in agricultural products between Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan reached $7.8 million from January through August 2023, Trend reports.
Data from the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan shows that exports amounted to $336,100, while imports stood at $7.5 million.
Exports from Kyrgyzstan included raw hides worth $157,700, vegetables totaling $115,500, and prepared or preserved meat and meat by-products valued at $62,900.
On the other hand, Kyrgyzstan's imports from Pakistan consisted of sugar and sugar confectionery products worth $4.7 million, fruits amounting to $1.3 million, coffee, tea, and spices totaling $640,000, cereals valued at $398,800, vegetables totaling $165,300, and processed fruit and vegetable products valued at $116,300.
According to the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, its trade with Pakistan amounted to $14.781 million from January through August 2023, which is 2.2 times more than in the same period of 2022 ($6.656 million).
Kyrgyzstan’s exports to Pakistan reached $909,100, rising by 38 percent compared to January-August 2022 ($655,300). The country’s imports from Pakistan totaled $13.872 million, which is 2.3 times more than in the same period of 2022 ($6.001 million).
