BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, December 4. Construction of a large international airport will commence in the Kok-Art Valley of the Jalal-Abad region in Kyrgyzstan, Kamchybek Tashiev, Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of the country, said, Trend reports.
He announced that specialists from Russia have already visited the whereabouts of the construction area. They have spotted a site for the airport, prepared the necessary deliverables, and are currently working on the project.
The Director of National Security also disclosed that an Olympic reserve school will be built in Jalal-Abad, the major stadium will be rebuilt, and all roadways will be repaired.
Concurrently, Kyrgyzstan's "Manas International Airport" corporation, which operates all Kyrgyz airports, processed 4.2 million passengers from January to September 2023. In comparison to the previous year's nine-month number (3.8 million passengers), current passenger traffic in Kyrgyzstan's airports has increased by 10 percent.
