BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, March 21. Kyrgyzstan imported 71.861 million cubic meters of natural gas in January 2024, which is 0.5 percent less than the 72.251 million cubic meters imported in January 2023, Trend reports.
Data from Kyrgyzstan’s State Statistical Committee reveals that the value of these imports amounted to $10.779 million, a decrease of 0.5 percent compared to January 2023’s $10.837 million.
Of these imports, 62.870 million cubic meters were imported from Russia, with a value of $9.430 million, while 8.991 million cubic meters were imported from Uzbekistan for $1.348 million.
Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover reached $1.168 billion in January 2024, which is a 36.8 percent increase compared to January 2023. Exports amounted to $181.3 million, a 46.6 percent increase compared to January 2023. Imports increased by 35.1 percent compared to January 2023, reaching $987.5 million.
