BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, April 20. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has praised the implementation of Kyrgyzstan's road project, connecting Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Corridors (CAREC) 1 and 3 (Epkin-Bashkuugandy section), Trend reports.
According to Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Transport and Communication, the ADB awarded the ministry's project implementation group for best resource management and timely completion of all project stages.
The North-South Alternative Road, or the CAREC Corridors 1 and 3 Connection Project (Epkin-Bashkuugandy section), spans 70 kilometers and is being carried out by the ADB. The consulting firm for the project is Turkish Gentek International Engineering and CL, while the contractor is China Railway No. 5 Company.
The 2024 plan includes laying 24 kilometers of the lower layer and 56 kilometers of the upper layer of asphalt-concrete pavement.
The portfolio review is an annual event conducted by the ADB in collaboration with the government of Kyrgyzstan. Its aim is to assess progress in project implementation, discuss emerging issues, and develop joint solutions to enhance cooperation efficiency.
During the meeting, the sides noted the importance of bilateral cooperation to achieve sustainable development goals and improve the living standards of Kyrgyzstan's population.
