BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, May 14. Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $3.723 billion from January through March 2024, which is 29.8 percent more than in the corresponding months of 2023 ($2.868 billion), Trend reports.
Exports amounted to $510.9 million, increasing by 12.8 percent compared to January through March 2023 ($452.920 million). Imports, compared to the same period in 2023 ($2.415 billion), grew by 33 percent, reaching $3.213 billion.
In the structure of trade turnover, exports accounted for 13.7 percent, while imports accounted for 86.3 percent.
Specifically, the trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) amounted to $868.478 million during the reporting period, decreasing by 6.5 percent compared to January through March 2023 ($929.347 million).
Exports to the EAEU totaled $196.296 million, which is 21.8 percent less than in the same period of 2023. Kyrgyzstan's imports from the EAEU reached $672.182 million, a 0.9 percent decrease year-on-year.
In the total volume of the country's trade, EAEU accounted for 23.3 percent, including 38.4 percent in exports and 20.9 percent in imports.
