BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, May 14. Kyrgyzstan exported 2.11 tons of gold from January through March 2024, which is a 2.5-times increase compared to the same period in 2023, Trend reports.
Data from Kyrgyzstan’s State Statistical Committee reveals that the value of these exports amounted to $139.712 million, increasing by 2.7 times compared to January-March 2023.
Specifically, 1.126 tons of gold were exported to Hong Kong for $75.36 million, 971 kg were exported to Switzerland for $63.5 million, and 12 kg to the UAE for $811,900.
Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $3.723 billion from January through March 2024, which is 29.8 percent more than in the corresponding months of 2023.
Exports amounted to $510.9 million, increasing by 12.8 percent compared to January through March 2023. Imports, compared to the same period in 2023, grew by 33 percent, reaching $3.213 billion.
In the structure of trade turnover, exports accounted for 13.7 percent, while imports accounted for 86.3 percent.
