BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 26. A new logistics warehouse with a capacity to store 500 tons of fruits and berries has been opened in the Aksy district of the Jalal-Abad region of Kyrgyzstan, Trend reports.
According to the Kyrgyz Ministry of Agriculture, the facility, which cost 22 million soms (nearly $258,000) to build, provides seasonal employment for local residents.
It was also noted that a logistics center for processing prunes in the village of Jerge-Tal in the region will fully commence operations in September.
The construction and equipment of the prune processing center required a total investment of 26.8 million soms (near $314,000). The center will handle the processing, sorting, packaging, and export of finished products to Kazakhstan, Russia, and Uzbekistan, with a processing capacity of 50 tons of prunes per day.
