BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 30. Kyrgyzstan has inaugurated seven new energy infrastructure projects to mark the centenary of the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Region, Trend reports.
According to the Ministry of Energy, among the openings is the Kambar-Ata HPP-1 tunnel, which stretches 1,387 meters. During the Soviet era, 1,262 meters were excavated, leaving 125 meters to be completed. Drilling and blasting for the tunnel began in April 2023.
The renovation of the new administrative building for the Suzak energy supply company, a branch of National Electric Grid of Kyrgyzstan has been completed. Additionally, the company has launched a concrete production plant based at the Naryn energy network enterprise.
The Kyrgyzkomur state enterprise held an official opening ceremony for the state coal mine "Urmizan 3" in the Batken region. Kyrgyzkomur has also commissioned the "Zagara 2" coal mine.
Furthermore, the Isfayram small hydropower plant and the Kurak-Tekir small hydropower plant have been put into operation.
Overall, Kyrgyzstan plans to commission 100 new industrial and social projects by the end of the centenary celebration.
