BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 6. The wheels of progress are set to turn again on the Bishkek-Moscow route, as international passenger train traffic is slated to make a comeback in 2025, Trend reports, referring to the statement of Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Transport and Communications.

“Following the implementation of COVID-19 restrictions, the international passenger train from Bishkek to Moscow was discontinued. Railroad services to Samara station in Russia were reinstated subsequent to the pandemic. The Moscow railway junction underwent a substantial reconstruction following the pandemic. As a result, the movement of passenger trains to Moscow was temporarily suspended from the Kyrgyz Republic and other CIS countries,” the statement reads.

The ministry spilled the beans that in the new train schedule for 2025, they're planning to get back on track with the Bishkek-Moscow international passenger service.
