BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 12. The Russian Rosatom company will build a small hydropower plant (HPP) in Kyrgyzstan's Jalal-Abad region, Trend reports via the company.
According to the company, Rosatom Service, the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund, and Alpha Oil, Kyrgyzstan's leading fuel and lubricants company, signed an agreement to explore and implement an investment project to build the Chandalash small HPP in the Jalal-Abad region with an installed capacity of up to 30 MW.
The project is on track to wrap up in the next three years..
"The Chandalash HPP will have a positive impact on the well-being of local residents and the development of the country's industry," said Deputy Director General for Project Management at Rosatom Service Vladimir Bredov.
He added that the project will use advanced Rosatom technologies, ensuring the highest standards in the HPP construction.
To note, the agreement was signed during the VI Kyrgyz-Russian Economic Forum.
