Tajikistan’s imports reach $2.6 bln in Jan.-Oct.

Tajikistan’s exports of goods amounted to $1 billion in January-October 2011, which was 11.6 percent more than during the same period last year, Asia-Plus reported refrerring to the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT).

Tajikistan's exports of goods amounted to $1 billion in January-October 2011, which was 11.6 percent more than during the same period last year, Asia-Plus reported refrerring to the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT).

Over the report period, Tajikistan exported mainly mineral commodities, cotton fiber and precious metals.

The import of goods over the report period amounted to $2.6 billion , which was 25.6 percent more than in January-October 2010.

According to NBT, increase in imports was mainly due to the rise in imports of food products (wheat flour, wheat, and vegetable oil), oil products, lumber, transport means, finished foods products and consumer goods.
