The Collective Security Treaty Organization will not interfere in the situation in Tajikistan, RIA Novosti quotes CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha as saying.

"The processes occurring there are internal affair of Tajikistan and do not require intervention of collective forces," Bordyuzha told reporters following a meeting in Minsk with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

Within the meeting, Lukashenko urged the Collective Security Treaty Organization to respond to the situation in the Tajik Gorno-Badakhshan autonomous region.

Meanwhile Bordyuzha believes Tajikistan's law enforcement agencies are quite capable and able to resolve problems in the Gorno-Badakhshan Authonomous region themselves.

A special operation started in Tajik city of Khorog on July 24 to neutralize illegal armed formation, which, according to security services, is involved in murdering regional head of National Security Committee Abdullo Nazarov.

According to Tajikistan's Interior Ministry and the National Security Committee, 30 militants were killed and 40 were arrested within the special operation. Moreover, 12 Tajik security officers were reported to have been killed and another 25 were injured. According to unofficial information some civilians were killed in special operation.
