Tajik, Pakistani Presidents meet in Tehran
Tajik President Emomali Rahmon on the sidelines of the Non-Aligned Movement summit in Tehran on Thursday met with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, Avesta.Tj reports.
The presidents discussed the Tajik-Pakistani bilateral cooperation as well as cooperation in regional and international organizations, the Tajik presidential press service told Avesta.
According to the source, the two sides stressed the need for regular monitoring of the implementation of the agreements and decisions of the Tajik-Pakistani Intergovernmental Commission.
"The two sides also called for the acceleration of the implementation of regional projects in transport, power transmission lines construction, and other areas," the source said.
He said the parties also touched on regional security, especially the situation in Afghanistan.
