BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 29. In Tajikistan, a new large cement plant will be built in the Qubodiyon district of the Khatlon region, Trend reports via Tajik Media.
The President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon instructed to approve the draft Investment Agreement between the government of Tajikistan and Tajik Orien Invest company on the construction and commissioning of a cement plant.
As reported, a total of $160 million will be invested in the construction of this plant. The annual capacity of the new plant will be 1.8 million tons of cement.
Notably, imports of equipment, vehicles and goods for the implementation of this project are exempt from customs duties and VAT.
Meanwhile, 16 enterprises are currently producing cement in Tajikistan, with the total annual capacity of 5.6 million tons of cement.
