Telecom company in Tajikistan expanding its retail network

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 16. Megafon Tajikistan, a telecommunications company, has opened 14 new communication salons in the country since the beginning of 2023, Trend reports.

The company expanded its retail network by establishing salons in Dushanbe, the Districts under Central Government Jurisdiction, the Khatlon region, and the Sughd region.

By the end of May 2023, seven salons were established in the Sughd region and four in the Khatlon region. Two salons were opened in the Districts under Central Government Jurisdiction, and one in Dushanbe.

Within these salons, the company's experts offer guidance on connecting wired home internet and conducting cash withdrawals from a bank card through the Cash-out service.

Megafon Tajikistan is a leading player in the telecommunications market in the country and holds the position of the largest taxpayer. Over the years, the company has contributed more than 2 billion somoni ($185 million) to the national budget.

In terms of ownership and management, the Russian Megafon company holds a 75 percent stake, while Tajikistan’s Tojiktelecom holds the remaining 25 percent.

Having been in operation since 2001, the company has a mobile subscriber base exceeding 1.5 million people. Its headquarters are located in Dushanbe.
