DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 6. Average LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) prices at fuel stations in Tajikistan increased within a week, Trend reports.
The data from the World Food Programme indicates that the average price for a liter of LPG was 5.4 somoni ($0.49) as of August 21, 2023. This represented an 11 percent increase compared to the previous week. However, in comparison with the previous year’s indicators, the price decreased by 16 percent.
The highest price, at 5.8 somoni ($0.53), was observed in the Rahst district, while the lowest price, at 5.2 somoni ($0.47), was found in Hisor city.
In Dushanbe, the price for a liter of LPG was 5.3 somoni ($0.48). This marked a 13 percent increase compared to the previous week but a 17 percent decrease year-on-year.
At the same time, the average price of gasoline in the retail markets of Tajikistan amounted to 10.4 somoni ($0.94) per liter as of August 21, 2023.
WFP Tajikistan, in partnership with the Neksigol Mushovir advisory organization, has been monitoring commodity prices in markets across the country. Price data is collected through a network of field enumerators. For each commodity, multiple traders are interviewed, and average prices are recorded.
