DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, November 21. A total of 86,279 hectares of land are currently sown with crops in Tajikistan, while 121,330 hectares have been cultivated at the moment, Trend reports.
Data from the Ministry of Agriculture of Tajikistan indicates that grain crops cover an area of 73,899 hectares, including wheat at 17,489 hectares and barley at 2,410 hectares.
Early vegetable crops span 12,380 hectares, encompassing onions at 9,101 hectares, carrots at 1,593 hectares, cabbage at 629 hectares, and other agricultural crops at 1,058 hectares.
Notably, 189 hectares of land have been sown with crops in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, 36,576 hectares in the Sughd region, 36,088 hectares in the Khatlon region, and 13,426 hectares in the districts under the central government. Currently, Tajikistan is actively engaged in its autumn planting campaign.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture in Tajikistan, the value of agricultural production in the country reached 43.809 billion somoni ($3.9 billion) from January through September 2023, which is an increase of 3.192 billion somoni ($288 million) compared to the same period in the previous year.
