DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, December 19. A total of 4,411 tourists from Tajikistan visited Azerbaijan from January through November 2023, which is a 78-percent increase compared to the same period in 2022 (2,473 tourists ), Trend reports.
Data from the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan indicates that this figure represents a 41 percent increase compared to the pre-COVID-19 year of 2019, when 3,112 citizens of Tajikistan visited Azerbaijan from January through November.
In November 2023, Azerbaijan welcomed 547 Tajik citizens, marking a 35 percent increase compared to November 2022 (320 tourists). In comparison, 320 tourists from Tajikistan visited Azerbaijan in November 2019 as well.
The visits of Tajikistani tourists to Azerbaijan in 2023, broken down by month, are as follows: January (165 tourists), February (177 tourists), March (317 tourists), April (294 tourists), May (299 tourists), June (452 tourists), July (691 tourists), August (507 tourists), September (534 tourists), and October (428 tourists).
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan was visited by 121,467 tourists from Central Asian countries from January through November 2023, which is 83.16 percent higher than the figure for the same period in 2022 (66,316 people).
