DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, February 19. Azerbaijan’s imports from Tajikistan reached $89,550 in January 2024, constituting 0.03 percent of Azerbaijan’s total imports, Trend reports.
The State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan reported that this figure surged by 101.7 times compared to $880 in January 2023.
However, there were no exports from Azerbaijan to Tajikistan in the first month of 2024. In January 2023, Azerbaijan exports to Tajikistan valued at $259,500.
The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan in 2023 amounted to $6.1 million, which represented 0.1 percent of Azerbaijan's total foreign trade turnover with CIS countries. This trade turnover between the two countries increased by 2.98 percent compared to 2022 ($5.9 million).
Azerbaijan's exports to Tajikistan in 2023 totaled $5 million, which is a decrease of 13.9 percent compared to 2022. Azerbaijan's imports from Tajikistan in 2023 amounted to $1.1 million, which was more than 8.13 times the level of 2022.
In January 2024, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover reached $2.986 billion, which is a decrease of 9.22 percent compared to the same period in 2023.
The country's exports in January 2024 amounted to $1.843 billion, a decrease of 1.75 percent compared to the same period last year. Azerbaijan's imports during the reporting period decreased by 19.15 percent year-on-year to approximately $1.142 billion.
