DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, May 31. The National Bank of Tajikistan and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) are exploring a technical assistance cooperation agreement to improve the regulatory environment and promote cutting-edge digital financial services in Tajikistan, Trend reports.

This was stated during a meeting between the Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan, Firdavs Tolibzoda, and a delegation from the IFC led by the Regional Director of the Department of Economics and Consulting Services in the Middle East, Central Asia, Türkiye, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, Ilhem Salamon.

According to the Tajik bank, Tolibzoda was satisfied with the IFC's cooperation, acknowledging the corporation's efforts to boost corporate governance in the banking sector and refining the regulatory framework. He noted the IFC's assistance in creating Tajikistan's national policy to improve financial access and digitalization.

The parties discussed bilateral cooperation, IFC projects, and new underground geothermal energy initiatives and their implementation at the meeting.

In turn, Salamon shared positive statistical dynamics and economic indicators of Tajikistan's economy and banking system, expressing the readiness of the International Finance Corporation to support further projects.
