Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, May 6 / Trend H.Hasanov /
Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov invited Uzbek Leader Islam Karimov to visit Turkmenistan any time, the Turkmen government reported.
The invitation was gratefully accepted and the dates of the visit will be arranged through diplomatic channels, the report said.
Berdimuhammedov arrived on a two-day official visit to Uzbekistan on May 5. The sides held high-level talks, after which a package of intergovernmental agreements was signed.
The sides discussed issues of bilateral cooperation, as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest. Karimov stressed the similarity or coincidence of the positions and approaches of the parties on almost all issues, which are now at the center of discussion.
"I must say that we find a common denominator on all issues of bilateral partnership. We have an understanding and a willingness to cooperate," Berdimuhammedov said.
Berdimuhammedov's official visiting agenda also includes a visit to Bukhara, as well as historical and cultural monuments of this ancient city.
The previous high-level talks were held in Ashgabat during Uzbek Leader Islam Karimov's visit to Turkmenistan in October 2010.
