Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov has today made an official visit to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Turkmen government reported.
"This is President Berdimuhammedov's first visit to Pakistan, which sees the trip's significance as a milestone in the history of bilateral relations," the report reads. Bilateral documents are expected to be signed during the visit.
"During the coming meeting, both sides will consider the state of Turkmenistan- Pakistan bilateral relations and ways to enhance effective cooperation in key sectors of both national economies, as well as in the context of regional sustainable and peaceful development."
The two countries established diplomatic relations in May 1992 and have signed 30 international agreements that make up the legal framework for cooperation.
