Chairman of Turkmen Parliament Akja Nurberdieva received credentials of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Argentine Republic in Turkmenistan (with residence in Moscow) Juan Carlos Kreklera, the national TV channel Altin Asir reported on Wednesday.
At the meeting the sides exchanged views on the prospects for partnership in such areas as fuel and energy, trade and economic, agriculture, food and chemical industries.
"A separate topic of conversation was the discussion of the prospects for further expansion of inter-parliamentary cooperation and the strengthening of ties in the sphere of law, to development and improvement of which Turkmenistan and Argentina pay special attention," the media said.
Turkmenistan has intensified the cooperation with countries in Latin America, including Brazil, Mexico and Venezuela in recent years. In particular, a visit of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, who was the first of the leaders of this continent, who visited Turkmenistan, was held in late 2009.
