A program of Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov's visit to Turkey, scheduled for Aug. 9-10 was discussed at a government meeting in Ashgabat, the Turkmen government said on Monday.
It is planned to visit two largest cities of Turkey - Istanbul and Izmir.
"It was noted that within the visit the Turkmen-Turkish high-level negotiations will be held, during which key directions of the traditionally friendly intergovernmental relations, based on mutual good will of the parties and the principles of mutually beneficial cooperation will be discussed," the report says.
The report also quotes Berdimuhammadov, who said that intergovernmental partnership, based on principles of mutual respect and trust, as well as mutual benefit has the most favorable prospects.
The President expressed confidence in further successful development of bilateral relations and gave appropriate instructions with regard to preparation for the upcoming visit.
Turkish companies implement more than 1,270 investment projects in Turkmenistan.
They include more than 1200 projects worth more than $15 billion and 26 projects worth over two billion euros, 26 projects worth over 56 billion manat and other projects.
Ashgabat and Ankara would like to develop energy cooperation. Ankara has expressed interest in the delivery of the Caspian energy to Europe through the Caspian Sea and Turkey.
