A meeting was held with U.S Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Lynn Tracy at the Foreign Ministry. She arrived in the Turkmen capital to participate at the 17th International Conference 'Main trends of the Turkmen oil and gas sector and international cooperation', the Turkmen Foreign Ministry's press release issued by the Turkmen Embassy in Azerbaijan said.
It was stressed that Turkmenistan considers the U.S. an important partner and intends to continue developing its relations with the U.S on a long term and mutually beneficial basis, in accordance with the key directions of the foreign policy of Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
It was also stressed that the U.S attaches great importance to enhancing a dialogue with Turkmenistan given the positive experience of long joint work. Great prospects for mutually beneficial and constructive partnership are seen in the energy, transport, agriculture, education and science and cultural sectors.
The role of political consultations which are held on a regular basis and which have become an important mechanism for enhancing bilateral cooperation was also stressed. The activity of the Turkmen-American Business Council was highlighted.
An exhibition of American companies and the Turkmen-American business forums have been held in Ashgabat under its active assistance.
Both sides stressed the importance of continuing the already established productive dialogue to further diversify the fruitful cooperation of mutual interest.
