Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a special decree to provide citizens with passports that have a high level of protection and biometric data for travel to other countries, the Turkmen government said on Thursday.
According to the information, this will further enhance Turkmenistan's friendly relations with foreign countries, expand mutually beneficial trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation.
According to the resolution, the samples and a description of diplomatic passports of Turkmen citizens; official passports, passports for traveling from and to Turkmenistan have been approved.
According to the document, the previously issued relevant passports remain in force until the expiration.
According to another decree, samples and descriptions of identification card of stateless people, travel documents, identification cards of refugees, travel documents, and residence permits have been approved to further improve the activity of fulfilling the requirements of international treaties by Turkmenistan.
According to the document, the previously issued appropriate identification cards remain valid until expirqtion.
According to Turkmen TV, all these documents were signed at a meeting of the State Security Council.
"The President has instructed to further improve a mechanism of the migration service's activity, designed not only to register all foreign citizens arriving in the country, but to maintain Turkmenistan's image as a hospitable country, conducting a policy of "open doors" for all concerned partners," the information said.
