The Turkmen Ministry of Motor Transport will buy 500 intercity buses from South Korea’s Hyundai Motor in 2017, the Turkmen government said Jan. 18.
Earlier, Turkmenistan bought New Hyundai Super Aero City passenger buses. Moreover, Hyundai Universe Luxury and Hyundai Universe Noble buses were purchased for the local market.
According to the Turkmen side, the total trade turnover between Turkmenistan and South Korea has recently increased from $200 million to $1.9 billion.
South Korean President Park Geun-hye visited Ashgabat for the first time in June 2014 as part of her Central Asia tour.
A package of intergovernmental documents was signed following the visit.
