Turkmenistan’s Turkmenbashi oil refinery is preparing to produce biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film, the Turkmen Dovlet Habarlary state news service reported.
Earlier an agreement was signed with Indonesia’s PT Istana Karang Laut for construction of a facility to produce packaging film.
BOPP is widely used as a packaging material for packaging products such as snack foods, fresh produce and confectionery. It is easy to coat, print and laminate to give the required appearance and properties for use as a packaging material.
Nearly 21,000 tons of films of various types and purposes, including for the packaging of food products and industrial goods, will be produced annually from local raw materials.
