BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 1. Turkmenistan allowed the passage of foreign vehicles through its territory from Uzbekistan to Iran and in the opposite direction from June 25, Trend reports citing Orient news.

Foreign cars together with drivers are allowed to cross the border along the route Lotfabad checkpoint (Iran) - Artyk (Turkmenistan) - Farap checkpoint (Turkmenistan) - Alat (Uzbekistan) - Artyk checkpoint (Turkmenistan) - Lotfabat (Iran).

When entering the crossing point of the state border of Turkmenistan, foreign drivers are required to have a list of necessary documents with them.

Transit through the country is carried out on a contactless basis as part of a convoy along a pre-determined route and accompanied by traffic police during daylight hours, starting at 08:00 (GMT+5).

Along the route of the convoy, special parking lots are provided for recreation, repairs, refueling, and food purchases.
