BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 30. A working meeting of employees of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held via videoconference, Trend reports with reference to the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of increasing the capacity of the Farab - Alat checkpoints on the Turkmen - Uzbek border, exchanged information on the prospects for their development, and also touched upon the introduction of digital carnets of International Road Transport (TIR).
Discussing the status of work on the implementation of the protocol for the exchange of preliminary information, the interlocutors agreed to start the process of data exchange in January 2023.
At the same time, the parties agreed to hold periodic working meetings in order to promptly resolve issues arising at the border.
