BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 20. Turkmen Demiryollary OJSC has purchased 15 new cargo diesel locomotives of the Chinese CRRC Ziyang company, Trend reports citing Orient news.
At the moment, the first two locomotives have arrived in the country. The rest will continue to arrive in Turkmenistan in small batches until the end of January 2023.
Each of the locomotives consists of two railway cars. Powerful engines will allow diesel locomotives to transport large volumes of cargo.
Furthermore, the capacity of the new locomotives is 1,600 kW higher compared to the analogues previously used in Turkmenistan.
New diesel locomotives will contribute to the realization of the transport potential of Turkmenistan, increase the volume of domestic and transit cargo transportation, as well as increase the speed of their delivery.
