BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 31. A number of activities are expected in Turkmenistan in 2023 within the framework of the Border Management Program in Central Asia (BOMCA 10), a source in the BOMCA 10 told Trend.

"Regarding joint projects with Turkmenistan, we can inform you that next year a number of activities are expected within the framework of the implementation of the four components of BOMCA 10, namely: institutional development of border management agencies, improvement of detection capacities, trade facilitation, and improvement of cross-border cooperation," said the source.

The organization noted that within the framework of the tenth phase of the BOMCA program, a seminar was held in Turkmenistan that assisted national authorities in assessing trade facilitation measures.

"This seminar was held within the framework of the third component of the program aimed at further supporting the process of regional economic integration, which is planned to be achieved by improving the electronic filing and processing of documents for import, export and transit, supporting the creation of electronic data exchange systems, improving resource management and supporting the improvement of operational practices, training and expanding customs, veterinary and phytosanitary personnel, clearer customs regulation," BOMCA said.

It should be noted that the Border Management Program in Central Asia is sponsored by the EU and implemented by the UN Development Program with the help of teams from five countries subordinate to BOMCA and the CADAP partner program.
