BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 27. South Korean Daewoo E&C in cooperation with the Turkmenhimiya State Concern is working on projects for the construction of two plants in Turkmenistan, where natural gas will be the raw material for production, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.
This was stated by the head of the foreign marketing department of Daewoo E&C Min Manjun at the forum on attracting investments in the energy sector of Turkmenistan held from April 26 through 27 in Dubai (UAE).
According to him, one of them is a plant for the production of ammonia and urea with a capacity of 660,000 tons per year and 1,155 tons per year, respectively, which will be located in the Balkan region of the country.
He added that the second project is a plant for the production of phosphate fertilizers with a capacity of 300,000 tons per year at the Turkmenabat chemical plant in the Lebap region.
Furthermore, Min Manjun noted that the domestic resource base allows Turkmenistan to become a competitive producer and exporter of mineral fertilizers, and also determines the investment attractiveness of this industry.
Turkmenistan invests heavily in the formation of modern industrial infrastructure, which contributes both to the comprehensive development of the regions and to the economic prosperity of the country as a whole.
