ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, December 15. Turkmenistan's Turkmenhimiya State Concern plans to expand its production facilities by commissioning new chemical plants, Trend reports.

The state concern is now looking for a contractor for the design and building of plants for the manufacture of iodine, bromine, and their derivatives, as well as the manufacturing of carbon black at the 'Balkanabat' iodine facility.

The state agency will receive written submissions from interested organizations until mid-January of this year, after which the contract with the contractor will be finalized.

Meanwhile, Turkmenistan's chemical sector has been aggressively developing in recent years, becoming one of the major areas of the country's economic growth strategy.

Supported by government investments and strategic partnerships, chemical production enterprises are introducing modern technologies and improving production processes.
