ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, March 29. Turkmenistan ranked 7th in terms of the largest amount of Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover from January through February this year, Trend reports.
According to the Uzbek State Statistics Committee, the volume of
trade turnover between the two nations reached $184.6 million
during the stipulated time, a threefold rise over the first two
months of last year, which was $59.8 million.
During this period, Turkmenistan sold more than $173.5 million to
Uzbekistan, 4.3 times higher than in the same period in 2023, when
it was $40.2 million.
At the same time, Turkmenistan's imports from Uzbekistan fell by 43
percent, to $11.1 million from January to February 2024, compared
to $19.5 million in the same period in 2023.
The total foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan with foreign countries in the first two months of this year exceeded $9.91 billion, which is 10.5 percent more than in the same period of 2023, when it amounted to $8.97 billion.
Meanwhile, the total volume of trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan in 2023 amounted to $1.09 billion, which is 17.8 percent more than in the whole of 2022, when it amounted to $928.6 million.
