ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 9. Turkmenistan's GDP growth rate has remained steady at 6.3 percent from January through March 2024, Trend reports.
According to an official source, this was stated by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
He noted that the results of the work done in the first quarter of this year in Turkmenistan demonstrate the successful implementation of the adopted programs.
The President added that during the specified period, the growth rate of Turkmenistan's industrial sector reached 4.7 percent, in the transport and communications sector - 6.6 percent, in the service sector - 7.6 percent, in trade - 8.2 percent, and in agriculture - 4.1 percent.
Furthermore, he stressed that in the first quarter of this year, wages in the country increased by 10 percent.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan has showcased consistent expansion in its economy through varied efforts in the energy, transportation, and infrastructure domains.
The nation is actively executing plans to allure foreign investments, give precedence to economic diversification, and enhance the entrepreneurial atmosphere.
