BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 24. The trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Hungary was relatively moderate from the beginning of 2018 through the end of 2021, but after that, it decreased in 2022 and remained at the same level last year, the source at Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, told Trend.
According to official statistics, the total trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Hungary last year amounted to more than 6.2 million euros, which is 36 percent less than the amount of trade turnover in 2018, which amounted to 9.8 million euros, but the same as in 2022, which also amounted to 6.2 million euros.
Furthermore, in the period from the beginning of 2018 through the end of 2023, the total volume of trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Hungary amounted to 56.1 billion euros, which reflects the good level of economic relations between the two countries during this time.
The largest trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Hungary in recent years occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic, amounting to 13 million euros, and the lowest in 2022 and 2023.
